Ingredients

  • 4 lb boneless pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 ½ tbsp smoked paprika
  • ¾ tbsp garlic powder
  • ¾ tsp ground cumin
  • ¾ tbsp salt
  • ¾ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup chicken broth

Steps

    Mix the paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Rub all over the pork.

    Place the pork in a slow cooker and pour in the vinegar and broth.

    Cover and cook on low until the pork shreds easily with a fork, about 8 hours.

    Shred the meat and toss with some of the cooking liquid. Taste and adjust the seasoning.

  • Choose a barbecue sauce with no sugar, or serve plain.
